3-1-2012		Government Government Chief Information Officer assumes post On November 18, 2011, the Government announced the appointment of Mr Daniel Lai as Government Chief Information Officer (GCIO), following an open-cum-in-service recruitment exercise. Mr Lai has taken up the appointment on January 3, 2012. Mr Lai is a veteran ICT professional in Hong Kong with extensive experience in the information technology (IT) field, including the planning and implementation of IT projects as well as promoting professional development and the application of IT in the community.
